Statement of Principles
SoPThe medical and scientific rules DVA uses to decide whether a condition is connected to your service.
Every accepted condition has a Statement of Principles written by the Repatriation Medical Authority. The SoP lists factors (for example, a minimum number of operational hours, exposure to a specific event, or a diagnosis within a set time) that must be met. An advocate will check the relevant SoP before lodging a claim.
